Kira Kearsey
Executive Director
Kira was born and raised in the Roaring Fork Valley. She has a BA in Psychology and Elementary Education. She taught Kindergarten in the Aspen public school for 10 years. In 2008 she became employed at MSMS as the Administrative Assistant. In 2017 she became the Director. She received her Montessori Administration credential in May 2019. In her free time she likes to trail run, ski, raft, read, and spend time with her teenage children and her husband. |
Allison BergerAdministrative Assistant
Ali was a parent at MSMS for 7 years before she started working in the office. Ali has lived in the valley for 19 years and has had jobs with Challenge Aspen, The Children’s Health Foundation, bookkeeping, jewelry designing, and gardening. Ali’s job duties include billing, paperwork, attendance, playground supervision and MANY other tasks at the school. Ali works part time; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. In her free time Ali enjoys camping, spending time with her 3 boys, skiing, and Pilates. . |

Jenny Kuhn
East Toddler Lead Teacher
Jenny has worked at MSMS since 2010. She is a fourth generation Coloradan. She was born in Denver, CO and moved to Carbondale with her family in 1980. She graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. After graduating from college, Jenny moved to Aspen where she met her husband Andre. Jenny and her husband reside in Carbondale and have one daughter, Adrianna, who is in High School. When Adrianna started Kindergarten, Jenny began to substitute teach at MSMS and she fell in love with the Montessori Philosophy and Early Childhood Education. In 2013, Jenny earned her Early Childhood Teaching License from Colorado Mountain College and in 2014, Jenny graduated from Montessori Education Center of the Rockies and earned an Infant and Toddler Credential from the American Montessori Society. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys traveling with her family and researching her genealogy. |
Sherri HalversonEast Toddler Assistant Teacher
Sherri was born and raised in Wenatchee, WA. When Sherri was 23 she had the opportunity to move to Carbondale with the family she nannied. A year later she met her future soul mate, Bryce, whom she married and is now settled in the valley. During her free time Sherri likes to golf, bowl, camp, play disc golf, watch football! You will hear her rooting for her team: “GO Seahawks!” She worked at Ross Montessori for 2 years prior to joining us at MSMS. We have been lucky to have her at MSMS since 2014! |
Phoebe stoneToddler Floater Teacher
Phoebe grew up in central Vermont. After graduating from college in Ohio, she moved to Boulder, where she participated in the Friends' School Teacher Preparation Program and earned a Colorado Early Childhood Education Teaching License. She received her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from University of Colorado, Denver and has since taught preschool in Colorado, Indiana, and Vermont. She now lives here in Carbondale with her husband and daughter. She loves Carbondale for the people, community, and the easy access to hiking and bike-commuting. You may have met her previously at Batch (Roaring Fork Beer Company) where she has beertended. |
